A challenging aspect of the project is the sheer volume of materials to be abated is approximately five million square feet of materials. His crews are using of 12 of the 27 operating elevators to move the materials. After a change of ownership delayed the project for several months, ARC got back on the job when the redevelopment was back on track under the new ownership. ARC tackled the bottom seven floors plus two lower level floors. The crew increased from 60 to 80-100 workers to complete this eight-figure contract is the end of 2016 on time and under budget.
Chappell is managing the asbestos abatement on approximately one million SF at a section of a hospital campus which is no longer in use. His crews will remove hazardous material from the historic location before a partner company completes a mechanical take-down technique on a portion of the facility. These precautionary steps are being taken because renovation work is being done in proximity to another functioning segment of the hospital.
