Asbestos Abatement Amid Site Reclamation

This Sherwin Alumina plant was located outside of Corpus Christi in Gregory, Texas.

The asbestos abatement was part of an overall site reclamation project resulting in a cleared 40-acre site available for development.  ARC Abatement, utilizing its skilled scaffold erectors and abatement technicians, scaffolded and removed all asbestos prior to total plant demolition.

The asbestos abatement scope included removal of thermal systems insulation from large verticle evaporators, precipitators, and Bauxite grinders. There was pipe insulation throughout the plant and powerhouse in sizing ranging from 2” to 36” in diameter.  Many of the buildings were clad in Galbestos siding and transite siding removed by ARC allowing safe demolition of the facilities.  ARC Abatement worked 50,000 man-hours on this project with no incidence or accidents.
